Purchase Tickets Now for "Autumn in the Garden" Tour & Market Presented by Master Gardeners San Diego

Join garden lovers from around the county as they find inspiration and education at “Autumn in the Garden” Tour & Market on Oct. 1.

Tickets are on sale now for this inaugural garden tour presented by Master Gardeners San Diego at the start of San Diego’s fall planting season. Purchase them online with a credit card or download a mail-in form by clicking here.

Eight open gardens in the scenic Point Loma area will highlight diverse water-wise landscapes and amenities ranging from outdoor kitchens to potagers and orchards.  All will feature educational displays on everything from citrus care to composting, birds and butterflies, and growing tomatoes. Notable plants will be identified and labeled.  A school garden (with Master Gardener consultants) will also be featured. Click here for highlights not to be missed at each garden.

The event also will include a market, open to the general public as well as tour goers, at Dana Middle School, 1775 Chatsworth Blvd. The market will feature Master Gardener hand-crafted garden accents, garden goods from specialty nurseries and stores, and a variety of other vendors and non-profit organizations. Plants, including many seen in the tour gardens and grown by Master Gardeners, also will be for sale. Food trucks will be on hand to offer snacks and beverages. To preview market vendors, click here.

Tickets purchased in advance are $20. Tickets purchased on the day of the tour are $25 (cash and check) and will be available at the market.

Hours for the self-guided driving tour are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The market is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Tour sponsors include San Diego Home Garden/Lifestyles magazine, Edible San Diego, Kellogg Garden Products, Coach America, Walter Andersen Nursery, Anderson’s La Costa Nursery, Native Sons, Briggs Tree Company and Greatsoil.
